The Isle Reader: Ecocriticism, 1993-2003 by Michael P. Branch,
This volume gathers nineteen of the most representative and defining essays from the journal ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment over the course of its first ten years. ISLE is the journal of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment. Both the journal and the organization are devoted to ecological literary criticism and environmental scholarship in related disciplines in the United States and around the world. Following an introduction that traces the stages of ecocriticism's development, The ISLE Reader is organized into three sections, each of which reflects one of the general goals that the ecocritical articles in ISLE have sought to accomplish. The section titled "Re-evaluations" provides new readings of familiar environmental writers and new environmental perspectives on authors or literary traditions not usually considered from a green perspective. The writings in the section "Reaching Out to Other Disciplines" promote cross-pollination among various disciplines and methodologies in the environmental arts and humanities. The writings in the final section, "New Theoretical and Practical Paradigms, " are especially significant for the conceptual and methodological terrain they map. The ISLE Reader at once marks an important milestone, documents the state of research in ecocriticism and related interdisciplinary fields, provides a survey of the field, and points to new methodologies and possibilities for the future.

Wetlands by William J. Mitsch, X
Praise for Wetlands, Second Edition "This book is the wetlands bible . . . the most wide-ranging [book] on the subject."— Carl Folke, Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Land Use Policy) "The single best combination text and reference book on wetland ecology."— Joseph S. Larson, University of Massachusetts (Journal of Environmental Quality) "First on my list of references to recommend to someone new to wetland policy management or science."— Jay A. Leitch, North Dakota State University (Water Resources Bulletin) "The First Edition of Wetlands became the definitive work for educating wetland scientists and managers across the country. . . . The Second Edition . . . is a wonderful improvement . . . and provides a complete guide to wetland science, use, and utilization."— P. M. Gale, University of Florida (Journal of Environmental Quality) The book every wetland professional needs, now completely revised and updated In many respects, this Third Edition of Wetlands is an entirely new book. While the authoritative coverage of its earlier editions has been retained, an enormous body of new material has been added, and every chapter has been revised to keep pace with rapid growth in scientific knowledge and important innovations in wetland ecology and management. Now in a larger, easier-to-read format, this wetland "bible" offers expanded coverage of everything from the role of crabs in mangrove swamps to the role of wetlands in global climate change.

Christian Science Journal - The Christian Science Journal is an official monthly publication of the Church of Christ, Scientist through the Christian Science Publishing Society, founded in 1883 by Mary Baker Eddy. Written chiefly for Christian Scientists, as opposed to the Christian Science Sentinel and Christian Science Herald, it includes articles written from a metaphysical angle of Christian Science, with editorials, church news items, testimonies of healing, and listings of Christian Science churches, practitioners, nurses, and Committees on Publication.

American Journal of Political Science - The American Journal of Political Science is published by the Midwest Political Science Association. It is one of the most prestigious scholarly journals of political science and publishes articles on all areas of political science.

University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science - With 1925 origins as a research station on Solomons Island, the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) is one the University System of Maryland's two scientific research centers. In 1973 it became the Center for Environmental and Estuarine Studies and in 1997 it assumed its current name.
